Lindenow Football Netball Club has not renewed the contract of Brett Waddell after two years as the senior coach.
The Cats won two matches in 2024 under Waddell, before improving significantly this season winning five matches and climbing from seventh to sixth on the ladder.
Waddell’s tenure was highlighted by three consecutive wins in 2025, including a win over Stratford, who were fighting for a finals spot at the time.
Waddell impressed everyone at the Cattery with his strong commitment to the role and invested time and effort into the senior playing group.
His passion for football and his dedication to the players were evident, and his influence was particularly valuable in supporting the development of the young senior list.
During his time, he led by example both on and off the field, setting high standards for training and performance, encouraging accountability, and worked to build belief within the playing group.
It is hoped Waddell will continue on in 2026 as a player, but he may be keen to pursue a coaching path elsewhere.
There are a number of coaching jobs in the region up for grabs, including the under 18 job at Bairnsdale and the senior job at Paynesville.
