Wy Yung secured back-to-back wins in “C” grade, taking down Boisdale Briagolong by 10 goals in the grand final.
It was a low-scoring first quarter, with neither side wanting to give up the ball, however, it was Wy Yung that edged ahead, establishing a two-goal lead at the first break.
That gap was maintained in the second quarter, with both sides piling on 10 goals each to keep the scores relatively tight.
The third quarter was where Wy Yung started to pull ahead, with the Tigers’ crowd becoming more enthusiastic as the time ticked down.
By the three quarter time break, the Tigers had pushed ahead with a handy six-goal lead.
Some excellent shooting by Wy Yung’s Jasmine Baxter-Saunders not only propelled the Tigers along, but fired up their home crowd, extending their lead to 10 goals.
Boisdale continued to fight, defending valiantly down the court, however the game was Wy Yung’s to win, and it did just that, running out 10-goal victors.
Wy Yung’s Ashley Atkinson was named best-on-court for her outstanding performance in defence.
