Maffra and District Car Club (MADCC) recently held round seven of the of the Boisdale Hillclimb Series with a twilight and combined short track / long track race meeting.
The new format for this event saw drivers do four runs on long track, then as afternoon and evening progressed, four more “runs” on short track.
The fastest time recorded on each track were added to determine the winner, which for this meeting was buggy driver Matt Muir with a combined time of 98.12 seconds.
Fastest in the ladies’ class was Hyundai driver Lauren Caffrey (107.27), and quickest junior driver overall was Riley Callow with (108.64).
Attention is now turned to the final round of the 2025 Boisdale Hillclimb season, the Noel Burley Memorial Twilight Hillclimb, to be held this Saturday, November 8.
Each year, the MADCC holds this hillclimb to honour one of the club’s early valued members, Noel “Noddy” Burley.
He joined the club in its formative years, soon becoming not only an active member, but taking on committee positions and organising not only competitive events, but social outings.
Noddy, as many knew him, was responsible for much of MADCC’s promotion via his radio program and any other media available at the time.
Sadly, Noel Burley passed away in 1980, however the club still has Burley family not only competing, but attending to present the coveted perpetual trophies at the conclusion of the event.
Racing will commence at 1pm, concluding at 8pm with free entry to all spectators and there will be a kiosk open throughout the meeting.
The club will hold its presentation night at The Vines On Avon on December 13 from 5pm.
