Thieves targeted Beds R Us in Bairnsdale making off with a truck load of expensive stock in what the business owners believe was a planned raid.
CCTV footage from a nearby business captured the group of bandits as they entered the back of the store by forcing the back door with what’s believed to be a jemmy bar at 3.30 in the morning.
Jenny Easton, who owns Beds R Us with her husband, Brian, said the robbers were selective about what they stole, focussing on “good quality items”.
Mrs Easton said they took three mattresses, more than 50 quilt cover sets, 10 pillows, wool quilts, alpaca and mohair throws as well as a range of expensive Sheridan towels.
“They nearly cleaned out the towel rack,” she said.
“I’m sure it was a well planned robbery,” Mrs Easton said, explaining the thieves made off with the merchandise “in less than 10 minutes”.
The Easton’s have owned the store since 2018 and are devastated by the audacious theft which amounted to over $25,000 in stock.
