As part of Tennis Australia’s 1 Point Slam community events, Bairnsdale Tennis Club is set to host it’s very own 1 Point Slam on Sunday, November 30, in conjunction with the club’s annual club championships event.
The 1 Point Slam event will see locals of all ages and abilities hit the court vying for a spot in the state championships event to be held on Saturday, December 20.
The winner of the state championships event will move through to the AO 1 Point Slam Main Draw.
The event is the ultimate grassroots-to-Grand Slam experience, with local 1 Point Slam events taking place around Australia so that our entire tennis community has a shot to live out their grand slam dream on the biggest stage this January.
Bairnsdale Tennis Club president, Marg Supplitt, said the club is excited to be hosting a 1 Point Slam community event right here in East Gippsland.
“This format is unlike anything we’ve done before. One point, everyone included, anyone can win. It doesn’t matter if you’re young, older, new to tennis or highly skilled, one point can change everything. We can’t wait to crown our local champion and see where the adventure leads. Maybe all the way to the Million Dollar 1 Point Slam final,” she said.
