Singer Songwriters/Storytellers Stratford will celebrate its 15th year with a special event on Saturday, November 29, starting at 4pm.
Since 2010 the Singer Songwriters/Storytellers nights in Stratford have provided a unique opportunity for local and visiting writers, singers, musicians, poets and rappers to perform a variety of styles in a comfortable and intimate venue with a friendly and attentive audience.
This celebration will be held on the Peppercorn Stage at the rear of the Stratford Courthouse and will feature the usual blackboard list of acts (12 spots of 15 minutes each) along with longer sets from four regular attendees, Jam Trees, Emily Nock, The Mafeking Hillbillies and The Swampcrawlers.
The feature act for the evening will be Kris Mizzi, a Gippsland-born and raised artist widely recognised as one of Australia’s finest folk voices.
With a vocal delivery that’s truly unforgettable, Mizzi weaves beauty and honesty into his lyrics. His distinctive picking style and emotive storytelling have earned him a reputation for deeply intimate solo performances.
Poetic lyrics, meandering melodies and a voice which truly moves people, saw him awarded the 2021 Australian Folk Alliance Solo Artist of the Year. Mizzi is a complete
artist and is becoming renowned for his intimate solo performances and thoughtful songs throughout Australia.
Neirbos Eats will be attending with the best toasties in Gippsland.
Wits End Bar will be serving locally crafted beer, cider and wine.
Ticket proceeds go to the Singer Songwriter Storytellers Stratford coffers to keep the music flowing for another 15 years.
Tickets are available from the Stratford Courthouse website.
