Moe Racing Club chief executive officer, Cassandra Rendell, was on hand to supervise the annual Gala Draw at Club Eastwood last week.

There was plenty of excitement at Club Eastwood last Thursday night, with 100 people in the running to win a new car.

A red jaw-dropping MG ZST Vibe was what the punters were there for, hoping to snare the major prize in the annual Gala Night Draw.

With light music playing in the background, 10 finalists were carefully drawn from the barrel, by Moe Racing Club, chief executive officer, Cassandra Rendell and members of the club committee.

Then the excitement really began, with each finalist taking possession of a set of car keys, which they hoped might opening the doors of the major prize.

The party then adjourned outside, where under the supervision of Moe Racing Club chairman, Mike Vanderfeen, one by one, those lucky enough to be drawn out, pressed the button on their set of keys hoping that the car would light up.

One by one they failed, with the anticipation rising with every rejection.

The eighth person up was Sarah Abug, who much to her delight and that of the crowd, had the key which opened the much sought after grand prize.

Ms Abug is currently on her learners permit, and the car was something she was hoping to get in the very near future, thanks to a stroke of luck, she will be soon be on the road in a brand new chariot.

Her partner doesn’t drive after a recent stroke, so it certainly was a great result, the sentiments echoed by Club Eastwood and Moe Racing Club officials.

The moment of truth for Sarah Abug as she presses the button and wins a new car.
Sarah Abug was all smiles, delighted to have received a new Christmas present, in the form a new red MG ZST Vibe.
