The hot weather made hard work for players in round 12 of the Bairnsdale Cricket Association on Saturday, but Orbost and Meerlieu again made statements of intent with the finals only 5 weeks away.
The match between fourth-placed West Bairnsdale and Lucknow is precariously placed, the Magpies bowled out for 107 and Wests in trouble at 6/60 in reply.
The Magpies looked set for target far less than 100 when they were languishing at 6/46 but some great lower order batting from Aaron Cameron (33) and Dylan Byrant (28) at least created respectability.
