The Community Bank Paynesville and District has announced its scholarship program for local eligible students has now opened.
Students residing in Paynesville, Raymond Island, Newlands Arm or Eagle Point and who attend either Nagle College, Bairnsdale Secondary College or Gippsland Grammar are eligible to apply.
The Scholarships are open to students who have been offered a place at an Australian university to study for the first time in 2026, and will assist students with accommodation costs, course costs, and study-related materials and equipment.
The scholarships are valued at $5000 per year for two years for Bachelor Studies at university, subject to the criteria in the application form and satisfactory academic performance.
Students who live in Paynesville, Eagle Point, Raymond Island or Newlands Arm and who attend one of these secondary schools, are encouraged to apply for a scholarship once they have been offered a place in 2026.
Local branch manager, Jack van Reyk, is looking forward to supporting students with their studies in 2026.
“This is our third year of offering Scholarships for local students through funding we have provided to the Community Enterprise Foundation. So far, we have provided nine local students with financial assistance to help them with their move to Melbourne to attend university. We are
looking forward to helping some more local students in 2026.”
