The Paynesville Classic Boat Rally and
Maritime Festival has grown to become a signature event on the East Gippsland social calendar, and the event would not be
possible without the hard work of its volunteer committee, and the generosity of the
local community.
The 2026 rally committee recently received a wonderful surprise when the Paynesville Community Craft Centre made a very generous donation of $5000 for the upcoming event.
Rally patron Peter Medling called in to the Paynesville Craft Centre in early December to meet with “the absolutely gorgeous ladies” to say “it’s simply amazing and we cannot thank you enough for being on board with us”.
With a current membership of 70, the Paynesville Craft Centre ‘gals’ are a vibrant social group who volunteer their time and keep the Craft Centre open from 10am to 4pm every day of the year, except Christmas Day. For the past 46 years, the Craft Centre’s members have been quietly and consistently fundraising for their community.
“Please do yourself a favour and go in to the Paynesville Craft Centre and check out their great shop – it’s full of beautiful surprises everywhere you look,” Peter Medling said.
The Paynesville Classic Boat Rally and Maritime Festival is fast approaching and will take place in Paynesville from Saturday, February 28, to Sunday, March 1, 2026.
