Another huge edition of the Bairnsdale parkrun was held last Saturday, with 107 participants taking to the picturesque five-kilometre river view course for a run, jog or walk for fun or exercise.
It was the 445th edition of the weekly event, which was led home by local youngster, Angus Tanner in 20 minutes and 25 seconds, the first women home was Agnieszka Buska (23.29) in a personal best time.
The event attracted 11 first timers, saw six personal best times, while representatives of eight different clubs took part.
Personal best times were recorded by Harrison Duffy (22.00), James Veale (23.29), Clinton Whelan (24.25), Kelly Lancaster (34.13) and Doug Holl (60.57).
Riviera Triathlon Club, HITT Factory, Traralgon Harriers, East Gippsland Runners, Westerfoldians, Kinross Road Runners and Derek Zoolander Centre for Kids Who Can’t Run Good were all represented.
The event was made possible by the work of volunteers Jay Burmeister, Mick Gilhooley, Dallas Howell, Trent Howell, Ricky Papenburg, Kerry Rooney and John Theodore.
The Bairnsdale parkrun started on March 12, 2016, and departs every Saturday from 8am.
