East Gippsland Shire Council’s major upgrade of the Slip Road Maritime Precinct in Paynesville continues to make strong progress, with key construction milestones now complete and the project on track for delivery by mid-2026.
The northern seawall is now complete, and the southern section has been topsoiled and seeded, with grass already beginning to grow. These works mark a significant step in stabilising and shaping the new land area that will support future facilities for both commercial and recreational users.
Over the coming weeks, crews will begin fabricating and installing the floating pontoons and the new, longer and deeper commercial boat ramp. Installation of the service jetty and commissioning of all service connections is scheduled for completion by the end of the year.
The final phase of works, including car park construction, line marking and associated civil works, is expected to commence after mid-January 2026.
Council continues to work closely with local businesses, commercial operators, Gippsland Ports and the community as the project progresses. This collaboration will ensure smooth transition of berthing and management responsibilities for the new service and floating jetties once construction is complete.
