The roar of engines signalled a wave of generosity across East Gippsland last Sunday, as the annual Bairnsdale Toy Run was hailed a massive success.

Held on December 14, the event saw close to 200 motorcycles take to the road, marking a significant increase in numbers compared to last year and a welcome return to pre-COVID participation levels.

Riders travelled from as far away as the Latrobe Valley and Melbourne to join the convoy.

The group enjoyed perfect weather conditions for the majority of the ride before the winds picked up later in the day, making scheduled stops to greet supporters in Bruthen, Nowa Nowa, and Kalimna.

The event was bolstered by strong corporate support, with Kmart Bairnsdale and Khub

Lakes Entrance providing significant donations.

Hundreds of toys have already been donated, however organisers have reminded the community that the giving doesn’t stop with

the ride.

Toys can still be donated up until Christmas Eve.

Any donations received after December 24 will be kept locally to provide emergency relief for families in need throughout the year.

Following the overwhelming turnout, organisers have confirmed that plans are already underway for the 2026 event.
