Toyworld Bairnsdale owners, Les and Janice Barnett, have handed over the keys and 39 years of experience to Swan Reach couple, Dave and Alicia Lugton.
The new owners took over the much loved toy shop on Saturday, July 1, the same day that Les and Janice took over in 1984.
The couple has loved every bit of the near 40-year journey.
“I feel very blessed to have come to a job I’ve loved for 39 years,” Janice said.
“It’s certainly been a great ride.”
For the Barnetts there have been a number of changes throughout the years, such as the transition from cash to card payments, online shopping, and the layout of the shop itself, which included switching the boy and girl isles to reduce shoplifting in the boys’ section.
