East Gippsland residents are being encouraged to help shape the future of the region, with a wide range of council projects currently open for community feedback.
Projects seeking public input include the East Gippsland Aquatic Strategy, Public Art Policy, Port of Bairnsdale Master Plan, Lindenow District Place Plan and the new Events Action Plan for 2026–2030.
East Gippsland Shire Council mayor Cr Jodie Ashworth said community feedback played an important role in helping council plan and deliver projects that reflected local priorities.
“Community input helps council understand what matters most to the people who live, work and spend time in East Gippsland,” Cr Ashworth said.
“It’s fantastic to see such a broad range of projects currently open for feedback, with opportunities for people across the shire to share their ideas, experiences and aspirations.
“Every piece of feedback helps us make informed decisions and deliver projects, services and facilities that align with our community’s needs and future vision.”
The East Gippsland Aquatic Strategy is being developed to help shape the future of aquatic facilities across the shire, while the Public Art Policy consultation is seeking feedback on how public art can reflect local identity and community stories.
Council is also calling for stories, memories and photographs connected to the Port of Bairnsdale to help inform a future vision for the site as a welcoming community destination.
Community members in the Lindenow district are being invited to contribute ideas and priorities through surveys, workshops and a community working group, while event organisers and residents are encouraged to help shape the region’s Events Action Plan.
Feedback deadlines range from May 29 to July 31, depending on the individual project.
