Lucknow "A" grade goal attack Anna-Lisa Short looks for passing options during her side's victory against Lakes Entrance last Saturday at the Lucknow Recreation Reserve. The win marks four consecutive victories for the Magpies.

Giant-killer Lindenow continued its outstanding recent form in East Gippsland netball on Saturday, claiming its fourth consecutive victory in a round 12 thriller at home.

Having recently knocked off powerhouse Wy Yung, the Cats proved that result was no fluke by taking down third-placed Boisdale Briagolong by a solitary goal, 40-39, in a cracking contest.

The landmark victory allows Lindenow to hold onto fourth spot on the ladder, keeping a two-point cushion over the Tigers while closing to within two points of the third-placed Bombers.

Ash Smith, Molly Lawson and Renee Barry were again outstanding for the Cats, while Emerson Connolly, Ciara Fitt and Ash McDonough led the way for the “Double Bees”.

Meanwhile, Wy Yung kept its finals hopes alive with a dominant 59-17 win over Paynesville at AJ Freeman Reserve, with Abbey Alvin and Michaela Ward driving the Tigers to a comfortable victory.

Darcy Garth, Emily Hall and Emily Ferris battled hard for the Gulls under tough conditions.

At Lucknow, the Magpies outclassed Lakes Entrance on home courts, running out emphatic 76-31 victors.

Jemma McLaughlin, coach Erica Lynch and Hayley Escudero were all in sublime touch, proving pivotal in the seamless end-to-end transition play that has become a trademark of Lucknow’s season.

Skyla White and Poppy Carroll were among the best for the Seagulls during a challenging afternoon.

Reigning premier Stratford made light work of Orbost Snowy Rovers at home, clinical in a 75-29 triumph.

Tori Paterson, Keira McNicol and Sarah Bishop were in sensational form for the Swans, while Hayley Boxall and impressive junior Jess Griebenow put in solid performances for the Blues.

This week’s Match of the Round sees Wy Yung host Stratford at Bullumwaal Road, with the Tigers needing all four points to stay in touch with Lindenow, who should hold the upper hand against Orbost Snowy Rovers at home.

With just three rounds remaining before the post-season, the battle for finals positions is heating up across the league.
