Eastwood Landcare Group will celebrate national Landcare Week with a special community event this Saturday, August 8, inviting locals to discover environmental care firsthand and learn more about the vital work of
local volunteers.
Running from August 3 to 9 under the national theme “Experience Landcare,” the annual week highlights the dedicated efforts of volunteer groups working to protect, restore and enhance Australia’s natural environment.
To mark the occasion, Eastwood Landcare Group is hosting the weekend gathering to engage residents, showcase ongoing environmental projects across the Eastwood area and encourage new members to
get involved.
Eastwood Landcare Group secretary Joanne Jones said Landcare Week serves as a fantastic opportunity for community members of all ages to connect with nature and discover how local volunteer efforts
directly benefit the region’s flora and fauna.
The event will offer residents a chance to meet local Landcare members, learn practical environmental care skills and discover how small community actions contribute to broader conservation across East Gippsland.
Locals interested in attending the event or learning more about joining the Eastwood Landcare Group can get in direct contact with Joanne (details available at the Advertiser office).
