Boisdale Briagolong secured back-to-back premierships, claiming the 2026 Female Football Gippsland women’s title with a 12-point victory over Moe in Sunday’s grand final at the Traralgon Recreation Reserve.
The Bombers capped off their season with a hard-fought 2.7 (19) to 1.1 (7) win, holding off a gallant Moe side in a tight contest.
Boisdale Briagolong made the stronger start to lead by a point at quarter-time before gaining control in the second term. A goal and two behinds during the second quarter extended the Bombers’ advantage to nine points at the
main break.
Moe continued to fight throughout the second half, but the Bombers’ defensive pressure restricted scoring opportunities. Boisdale Briagolong took a 10-point lead into the final term and added another goal to seal the win, with a late Lions major trimming the final margin to two goals.
Teagan Sheldon was awarded the AFL Victoria Medal as best on ground following an outstanding performance in defence. She was named among the Bombers’ best alongside Daniela Pirona, skipper Shani Dixon, Emily Porter, Bailey Sheen and Zan McCall.
Dixon and Chelsea Wain kicked the goals for Boisdale Briagolong, while Bell Hughes was the lone goalscorer for Moe.
Cassie Davis, Jordyn Allen, Izabella Rosato, Ash Murtagh and Taryn Orgill were named the Lions’ best players.
