Eastcoast Boxing head coach Paul Carroll is looking forward to tonights huge card of boxing on the Gold Coast tonight featuring local stars, Blake Wells and Max Reeves.
The pair will feature on a high-profile card headlined by undefeated super welterweights Nikita Tszyu and Ben Mahoney at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Wells (13-2, 5 KOs) will fight in the evenings co-main event, against undefeated prospect Callum Peters (8-0, 7 KOs) for the vacant IBF Pacific middleweight title over 10 rounds.
Wells is currently ranked 15th in the world, while the highly credentialed Peters boasts an impressive resume that includes a silver medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games and an appearance at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Carroll reported that Wells is in outstanding shape.
“Blake is a fit as he has ever been, going into the fight of his life, fancy a Bairnsdale boxer being a co-main event on a card like this,” Carroll said.
“Peters has a great amateur record and has started well as a pro, but he is yet to get into the ring with anyone of the calibre of Blake Wells.”
Reeves (13-1-1, 8 KOs) will square off against unbeaten New Zealander Oliver Frith (8-0, 7 KOs) in what promises to be a fiery light heavyweight clash over 10 rounds.
Frith, 24, enters the bout following a successful amateur career and is making his Australian professional debut against his toughest opponent to date.
“He’s a tough cookie, no slouch, he went to the worlds as an amateur, but we know how good Max is,” Carroll said.
“Be a great night, showcasing a couple of areas finest.”
Both fighters are in great shape and set for impressive showings in the ring.
