Bairnsdale fourths tuned up for 2026 Gippsland League finals with a win over Maffra in the final round of the home and away season at the Bairnsdale City Oval.
The Redlegs ran out easy 27-point winners, finishing the season in third place on the table, eight points ahead of the fourth-ranked Eagles.
After an even first term, Bairnsdale kicked six goals to two in the final three quarters to win in comfortable fashion, controlling game, playing it firmly on their terms.
Hudson Froud kicked three goals for the Redlegs, with Seth Adams and National Championships star, Isaac Brown slotting two each.
Among the best players for Bairnsdale were Caleb Kelly, Luca Desio, Froud, Tayte Gibbs, Cedric Taylor, and the highly talented Brown.
A disappointing loss in the thirds has seen the Redlegs drop from fourth to fifth, when victory would have sealed third spot and the coveted double chance.
After leading by a point at halftime, Bairnsdale were no match, going down by 31 points, the Eagles kicking seven goals to two in the second half on the way to an impressive victory.
Maffra have a strong thirds squad, with 14 members having played senior football in 2026.
Harry McGuinn, Harley Young, Chidi Otuonye, Oscar Baylis, and Ned Stansfield were among the better players for the Redlegs.
The Eagles, who will play finals in the reserves, ran out easy 42-point winners, with Bairnsdale certainly not disgraced.
Jason Waddell, Andrew Pritchett, Ivan Hood, Ned Stansfield, Cooper Young, and Angus Tanner all battled hard for the home side.
