Bairnsdale and District Agricultural Society Inc. has welcomed its newest life member, honouring long-serving steward Vicki Spencer for two decades of dedicated service.
Show president Simon Ellis had the privilege of bestowing the life membership on Ms Spencer, who has been an integral part of the annual event since 2006.
Her involvement began when her mother, Val Kinghorn — herself a current life member — asked for her assistance with the show setup. What started as helping out in the craft pavilion quickly expanded to overseeing needlework, keeping her hooked on the show movement ever since.
Ms Spencer continues her hands-on leadership this year as the head steward for the Needlework section, carrying on a proud family legacy of community service within the society.
“It is a tremendous honour,” Ms Spencer said of receiving the life membership alongside her mother.
Organisers praised her decades of volunteer commitment, noting that dedicated stewards like Ms Spencer remain the backbone of the annual Bairnsdale Show.
