Art lovers and curious locals are set to gather at the Bruthen Hall as the annual Mixed Bag Art Exhibition returns for another weekend celebrating regional creativity.
Organised by the Bruthen Presents team, this year’s show promises a diverse showcase of two-dimensional and three-dimensional works from regional artists, encompassing paintings, drawings, photography, sculpture and children’s pieces.
Alongside the exhibition, visitors can watch live art and craft demonstrations throughout the weekend, including hands-on fluid art and clay sessions, calligraphy and woodcraft.
On Sunday, members of the East Gippsland Historical Re-enactment Society will also demonstrate ancient textile crafts.
The event kicks off with a grand opening on Friday, September 18, at 7pm, featuring canapes, complimentary bubbles and live music from Peter Korn.
Exhibition doors will be open from 10am to 4pm on both Saturday and Sunday, with most artworks available for purchase.
Art and craft enthusiasts can also browse the Art Supplies INXS market on Saturday from 11am to 4pm at the hall to pick up pre-loved supplies.
