An online workshop this October will give East Gippsland residents the opportunity to learn about long-term planning for the region’s water supplies.
Hosted by East Gippsland Water and to be held on Wednesday, October 7, from 7pm to 8pm via Microsoft Teams, the water corporation will discuss its work to prepare its 2027 Urban Water Strategy.
General manager sustainability and infrastructure Neville Pearce said the session complements the nine in-person sessions held in August and September.
“This information session is aimed at people who were unable to attend those sessions. Being online, people can join from anywhere where there is an internet connection. We’ve also chosen an evening to cater for people who have commitments during the day,” Mr Pearce said.
East Gippsland Water representatives will share an overview of the Urban Water Strategy and how it helps plan for the region’s future water needs.
The online session will give participants an opportunity to learn more about future water planning, ask questions, and hear how East Gippsland Water is preparing for challenges such as population growth, changing climate conditions, and the ongoing need to use water wisely.
Interested community members can register for this free event via East Gippsland Water’s website, or by visiting the Humanitix website and searching for ‘Urban Water Strategy’.
Attendees need to provide an email address when booking their free ticket. A link to the online meeting will be sent in the days before the meeting.
