Bairnsdale Bridge Club has been offering a chance to play the pinnacle of card games for many decades.
The game was initially played in people’s homes with Jan Sharp giving bridge lessons, with the Bairnsdale Bridge Club formed in late 1977, with Jeffry Brown the inaugural president.
The club joined the Australian Bridge Federation and was then incorporated in 1979.
The annual anniversary pairs competition celebrates this history, the event recently played with this year’s competition winner Anna Kearon and George Campbell.
Recently Bairnsdale Bridge Club vice president and avid participant Jean Macleod became a member of the exclusive 1000 Masterpoint Club.
To honour the achievement, a cake was presented to Jean as a celebration of her amazing effort.
