Bairnsdale Squash and Racquetball Association’s after school racquetballers have just completed another great term.
The youngsters have prospered under the tutelage of Hannah Leonti and her helpers, learning the finer points of racquetball in a fun and inclusive program.
The term’s podium finish saw Zara Wilkins come out on top ahead of Lawson Foster and Hayden Andrews.
Some of the promising youngsters will be graduating to the senior racquetball program, while others will be joining the junior squash program that is running next term.
With squash being included in the Olympics for the first time ever, it’s never been a more exciting time to jump onto the squash court and learn and new and exciting sport.
The association will run a free come and try day on Wednesday, July 17, from 4-5.15pm, prior to the 10-week program starting.
The program is seen as a great way to introduce young people to the dynamic and exciting game of squash.
The squash stars program is designed in a way that each child (7-12) is engaged throughout the duration of each session which simply means less waiting around and more playing.
The sessions are ideal for beginners, with children progress through various play based activities and games as their skills improve each week.
