A group of a dozen or more ladies at the Eastwood Retirement Village meet once a week to knit, sew, crochet and chat.
They make rugs, beanies, scarves and soft toys to give to various local organisations with the focus on the homeless and women experiencing difficulties.
Among recent recipients are Bairnsdale Regional Health Service (BRHS) Maternity Ward’s for Beanies for Babies, Neighbourhood House for larger beanies and Anglicare for rugs, beanies, scarves and soft toys.
Although much wool has been donated within the village the stitchers would welcome donations of whole balls of eightply, preferably acrylic yarn, which can be left at Eastwood Retirement Village at 20 Evergreen Way, Eastwood.
