Paynesville Business and Tourism Association (PBTA) farewelled secretary Angela Dunkley this week after her outstanding 10 years of service to the association.
Angela received accolades from president, Jodie Ashworth, in front of a generous crowd attending the PBTA’s networking evening at the Paynesville Motor Cruiser Club.
When asked about the driving force behind the production and distribution of promotional material for the Paynesville BTA, Angela said she could only remember the good things about her work and association with the Paynesville BTA and the community.
Ms Ashworth was pleased with the support for the networking evening at the cruiser club and after a number of presentations by local businesses she outlined the forward plan for the BTA and announced the annual general meeting would be on Monday, November 11.
Ms Ashworth is hoping for a good turnout to the annual general meeting and some new enthusiastic minds to step forward to join the committee.
Questioned whether she was running for the up coming East Gippsland Shire Council elections, Ms Ashworth’s swift positive response was “yes”.
Ms Ashworth went on to say she will be running as an independent candidate with no political aspirations to use local government as a stepping stone to State politics.
“I stand for the local community, business and no barriers for business to grow in our region,” she said.
