Bairnsdale Scout Group and Bairnsdale Girl Guides hosted their Winter Warming event on Sunday, July 7, as part of this year’s East Gippsland Winter Festival.
The yard between the Guide and Scout Halls in Grant Street was buzzing with activity and the beautiful East Gippsland winter sun ensured everyone who attended had a fantastic time.
There were plenty of fun activities for all ages, including tug-of-war, giant Jenga, bean-bag catapult, team plank walking, foosball (table top soccer), camp gadget building, knot tying, scarf and woggle making, code cracking activities with Mores code and semaphore flags, scout and guide information displays as well as face painting.
Sausages, hot chocolate and s’mores were also on offer for sale to help raise funds for the scouts and guides.
Carlye from the WasteNot Movement provided a cyclic cup service ensuring only reusable cups were used during the event which helped to minimise the event’s waste.
It was a fantastic day and great to see so many people come down and join in the activities.
