Swan Reach remains on top of the Omeo District netball competition with three rounds remaining after accounting for Lindenow South at home last Saturday in a hotly-contested match.
The game started goal-for-goal before the Swampies were able to get a break in centre, applying genuine pressure to the Swan Reach juggernaut, taking a three-goal lead into quarter time.
Swan Reach came out firing in the second stanza, but to its credit Lindenow South was up to the challenge, the scores all level at quarter time.
The intensity and physicality of the game stepped up in the second half, opening up a lead and drawing away to win by eight goals in an outstanding game.
Tegan Benedetti was a stand out for Swan Reach, pivotal in the win.
Second-ranked Omeo Benambra began life on its new court with an impressive 43-goal victory over Buchan, while fourth-placed Bruthen again showed how great the gap between fourth and fifth on the table is, running out easy 31-goal winners over Swifts Creek at home.
The battle for top spot on the ladder will be decided this week, when Swan Reach host Omeo Benambra.
