The Twin Rivers Girl’s Night In at Johnsonville Hall last Friday was attended by 80 local ladies.
Served an extensive supper donated by local cafés, restaurants, wineries and supporters of the event, the homemade cakes were well received as well.
The fashion parade was supported by three local clothing businesses. Five ladies modelled outfits ranging from casual beach wear through to glamorous evening wear. The outfits and millinery were particularly timely heading into racing season.
Throughout the parade, 10 cute and professional children also modelled.
The tradie auction had 12 generous tradies donate their time and expertise, which helped raise more than $1000. Bidding was made through a silent auction.
Sixteen raffle prizes, all donated, raised more than $1200. Vouchers from restaurants, pubs, clothing stores, hampers, cinema vouchers and more, were given away. The organisers were humbled by the support from local businesses.
“In a time of online shopping, supporting our local tradespeople and businesses creates relationships that benefits our community in so many more ways. We can’t thank everyone enough,” the group said.
All proceeds go to Cancer Council. This year the Twin Rivers group has raised nearly $4000 with donations still being made.
