The program for the Bairnsdale Show Animal Education Centre activities this year will feature a new event.
So new in fact, that this may be the first time it has been seen in Australia.
Based on dog agility competitions, goat agility has become a popular sport in America.
The Bairnsdale Christian Community School has a team of students who have been busy training the kid goats, which are part of the school’s agricultural science program.
The Goagility team will be giving two demonstrations of goat agility training, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, at the Bairnsdale Show tomorrow.
Make sure you check out this entertaining activity when you visit the show.
Other interesting demonstrations include shearing demonstrations as well as formation riding exhibitions by the 13th Gippsland Light Horse Ceremonial Troop.
There will be a large variety of animals on show, as well as displays by the Riding for the Disabled Association and the Spinning and Weaving group.
An interactive quiz will be available for primary students and older ones to participate in, with craft and art activities for the younger children being organised by the Bairnsdale Christian Community Kindergarten.
These activities are free so come along and join in the fun at the Animal Education Centre.
