Run for your mum in the Bairnsdale’s Mother’s Day Classic this Sunday,
May 12.
Run in pink or blue this Mother’s Day to support research into breast and ovarian cancer.
Women in Super Mother’s Day Classic, Australia’s biggest fun run and walk for breast cancer research, returns this weekend with the local event, run by the Apex Club of Bairnsdale, starting at the Swing Bridge at Howitt Park, Bairnsdale.
The Mother’s Day Classic is a beloved, long-standing tradition for Australian families and registrations are now open.
This year celebrates the 27th anniversary of the Mother’s Day Classic. Over this time, more than 1.6 million participants have raised $44 million for life-saving breast cancer research. Funding the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Australia’s leading
national body funding breast cancer research that aims to stop deaths from breast cancer by improving the detection, treatment,
and outcomes for those affected by the disease.
“This year, we’re going one step further
by also raising money for the Ovarian
Cancer Research Foundation. From this day on, we’ve made it our mission to stop both ovarian cancer and breast cancer in their tracks,” Mother’s Day Classic organisers said.
“This progress is something to be proud of, but there’s still a long way to go. Twelve women die each day from breast and ovarian cancer. While the Mother’s Day Classic may fall on Mother’s Day, it’s not just about mums. It’s about raising funds for breast and ovarian cancer and coming together to help women’s lives forever.”
