The Australian Trail Horse Riders Association (ATHRA) is proud to support Do It For Dolly Day by supporting their clubs, members and the community to hold a “Trail Ride for Dolly’s Dream” leading up to and throughout May.
The Tambo Upper Trail Riding Club will be offering a fundraising ride on May 19 with a gold coin donation to Dolly’s Dream.
The event will help raise much-needed funds for Dolly’s Dream and support their anti-bullying initiatives and programs that are helping to empower and educate our community about the power of kindness and bullying prevention.
Following the ride, during afternoon tea, prizes will be drawn in the raffle that the club has been conducting. Tickets will be available on the day with some great prizes up for grabs.
Of course, even if you are not an ATHRA member, you can still join the club.
It’s all about Trail Riding for Dolly’s Dream, so let’s come together and Go Blue to End Bullying!
The unmounted muster will be at 9.45am and ride out time at 10am sharp from Jackie Whiting’s property at 164 Cunningham Road, Swan Reach.
As Jackie is currently sidelined with a broken arm the stand-in lead rider will be Sue Cullinan.
The group will head into the nearby Colquhoun Forest through banksia and sheoak stands and ferny gullies, along single tracks as well as through open bush.
The ride is reasonably easy but there are some short steep gullies to negotiate. It will be two hours before lunch and a little shorter after. Riders are asked to take a saddle bag lunch and halter to tie up at lunchtime.
Tambo Upper Trail Rides are held in various locations on the third Sunday of every month. New members are always welcome.
The 2024 calendar is available on the club Facebook page or at local saddlers. For further details contact Caroline Driscoll or Sue Cullinan.
