For Tegan Roberts and Stacey Oostermeyer, friendship has always blossomed.
Since starting prep together in 1998, their bond has remained strong. Now, these childhood besties are reuniting, not for a play date, but to co-host one of the town’s biggest community event – the Bairnsdale Show.
The show, scheduled for Saturday, November 9, at Bairnsdale Racecourse, promises a vibrant celebration of local talent and spirit.
From Tegan’s keen eye for marketing to Stacey’s passion for event organising, their combined talents are a recipe for success.
“While we work so well together, we have a great group of people on the committee,” show president Tegan said.
“Our members have various backgrounds, passions and areas of interest which really makes for a great collaboration come show day.”
The show will be a kaleidoscope of activities. Local artists will showcase their work, while live music fills the air. Food trucks will offer a taste of the town’s diverse culinary scene, and children’s activities will keep little ones entertained.
But for Tegan and Stacey, the heart of the show lies in fostering connections.
“We want this to be a day where neighbours meet, families bond, and a sense of community thrives,” Stacey said.
Their passion for inclusivity at local events is something they are working hard to have present on the big day.
“We have approached local disability providers to get on board so we can provide a sensory tent for show goers, as well as working to provide an accessibility map,” Stacey said.
Their long-lasting friendship is a testament to the power of connection and they hope to replicate that experience on a larger scale.
The Bairnsdale Show promises not just a day of fun, but a chance for the town to bloom together, just like Tegan and Stacey’s friendship has for years.
