More than 30 locals played in the Australia Wide Open Pairs competition at Bairnsdale Bridge Club last Friday.
The event is a national competition dating back more than 40 years and is the biggest bridge competition in Australia.
Thousands of bridge players play the same hands of cards, with winners in each club also competing for national recognition.
After the results are finalised players are presented with a booklet describing the best way to bid and play each hand, encouraging both bridge competition and improved play across the country.
The winners for north-south pair at the Bairnsdale Bridge Club event were Henry Gasko and Jean McLeod.
The east-west winning pair were Anna Kearon and Ann Gibbs.
