The Buchan Precision Rifle Club’s combined October shoot and NRL22 Fundamentals Class was a great success, with more than 40 new and old shooters in attendance.
Shooters travelled from near and far to attend the fundamentals class under the tutelage of one of the greatest of the sport in Australia, David Taylor.
Despite a slow start to the day the fundamentals class ran smoothly, Taylor outlining techniques and good habits that he has learnt/picked up during his time competing in the sport.
With the help of the club members all participants had the chance to get behind a rifle and put these new established skills into practice at steel and paper targets.
After lunch the October shoot took place with 24 competitors signing up, the event won by Stuart Ellam from the Eagle Park Precision Rifle Club, knocking off Taylor, with Karl Radolovic finishing in third place.
It’s hoped holding days like this will encourage more participants to become involved.
