Lindenow Primary School is through to the state finals of the primary school bowls after an outstanding victory recently at the Traralgon Bowling Club in the Gippsland Regional Lawn Bowls Championship finale.
The regional championship saw students from a range of primary schools showcase their skills in an intense series of matches for the bragging rights to be crowned Gippsland’s best.
Competing schools included Longwarry Primary, St Pauls – Traralgon, Eagle Point Primary and Cowes – Phillip Island.
Lindenow arrived at the regionals having all won all of its division tournaments earlier this year and eventually made it through to the grand final, where it defeated Cowes 9-7.
The Lindenow grade five and six students have been well supported by their community, gaining access to the Lindenow Bowls Clubs facilities to practice on a on a daily basis.
The state tournament will be held in Melbourne later this month, with Lindenow hoping to bring home the title of Victoria’s best.
