The Red Cross Lindenow volunteers spring event was held at Andrea and Keith Ford’s Dalfruin B&B on Sunday, October 6, in aide of Australian Red Cross Patient Transport, an essential service that provides transport to and from medical appointments to Traralgon or Melbourne.
Coordinator of the Bairnsdale service, Marcia Harrison, gave an insight into what their role involves.
It was an excellent event, with sun shining, Red Cross at their best with some delicious afternoon tea, the gardens full of spring colour and those in attendance enjoying the camaraderie and Orchestra Royale who demonstrated that not only are they dedicated GPs and pharmacists, but also excellent musicians, despite their own busy workload.
With Antoinette Mowbray (violin), Andrea Fail (clarinet and bass clarinet), Ruth Chantler (flute), Leo Hamylczyk (flute alto flute) and Wil Hardy (alto recorder and bass recorder), their choice of music was delightful, perfect to welcome spring.
Ann Guy, from Lindenow Red Cross, thanked all who attended, and the event raised $1300 for Australian Red Cross Patient Transport.
