Looking for a fun and family-friendly alternative to traditional Halloween festivities?
Riviera Christian Centre is excited to invite the local community to its annual Light Night event tomorrow (Thursday, October 31), at 103 Bairnsdale-Dargo Road.
This vibrant event offers a safe, fun and inclusive space for children and families to enjoy the night in a positive way, without the spooky or scary elements of Halloween.
Starting at 5.30pm, the evening kicks off with a free festival jam-packed with exciting activities for kids of all ages. Children are encouraged to come dressed in their favourite costumes — but please avoid anything scary or violent to keep the atmosphere light and enjoyable for everyone.
There will be a ton of fun for everyone, including performances by Wacky Wombat, an entertainer who is sure to delight with his lively antics and interactive show. Kids can jump to their hearts’ content on the jumping castles, get creative with face painting, and race around in pedal cars. If that’s not enough, there will also be fairy floss, popcorn, and a live band providing great music throughout the event.
Feeling hungry? No worries — there will be food trucks on-site offering a variety of delicious meals, as well as a classic Aussie sausage sizzle. While the festival activities are free, food will be available for purchase, so make sure to bring along some cash for a bite to eat while you enjoy the evening with your family.
As the sun sets, the fun doesn’t stop. At 7.30pm the energy ramps up with a lively dance party for the kids that will have everyone moving and grooving. There will also be costume prizes awarded to the most creative outfits, so make sure your little ones are dressed to impress (within the friendly, non-scary guidelines).
Additionally, there will be plenty of giveaways and, of course, heaps of lollies to enjoy.
Light Night is designed to provide a wholesome alternative to Halloween, where families can come together to celebrate in a fun, safe, and welcoming environment. Everyone is welcome to join in the festivities.
