Last week saw a changing of the guard at East Gippsland Marketing (EGMI) with Pat Carson stepping down as chairman after five years in the position, but he will remain on the board as an ordinary member.
According to his peers at EGMI, Pat has served the organisation well and in a quiet, firm and professional manner. Stepping into the chair at EGMI is tourism industry professional Andrea Brown. Andrea been deputy chair for the past two years.
Her practical business experience in the high end of tourism will shine a new light on leadership at EGMI.
New board members include Belinda Stewart, Darren Beggs and Jaco Van Deventer and retiring board members include Tim Biles, Paul Scrambler, Vanessa Medling and EGMI veteran Courtney Campbell.
The current EGMI executive officer was pleased to announce the appointment of Merrin Curnow as the new executive officer.
Merrin has recently moved to the region from Brisbane and has a wealth of experience in marketing in the financial sector, not-for-profit, manufacturing, community and health sector.
Merrin is pleased with her new appointment and keen to unwind her experience and skills to support the development of the region.
Merrin said she is looking forward to meeting the people involved in EGMI in the coming weeks and the broader community to see what they have to offer.
