Rowers, kayakers, fishers and other users of the small boat launching platform at Howitt Park will all benefit from a new portable pump and hose pressure washer acquired by Bairnsdale Rowing Club.
Made possible through a Community Small Grant from East Gippsland Shire Council, the club will use the new equipment to clear mud and other debris that accumulates on the platform on the occasions when the water level rises.
Bairnsdale Rowing Club president Tomos Clark is delighted with the new addition to the clubs shed.
“For many years our members have used brooms to try to sweep the platform clear of mud, but being able to pressure wash the platform will make it a much quicker and more thorough job, the platform won’t be slippery and will be safe for all users,” Clark said.
The club are already enjoying the benefits of the new equipment.
