The home and away formalities, and the tense semi finals are an after thought, with Metung Swan Reach set to clash in the 2024 Bairnsdale Cricket Association ladies cricket grand final this Sunday at AJ Freeman Reserve in Paynesville.
Both sides survived tense moments in their semi final victories, the top of the ladder Swans making 159 after batting first at the Sarsfield Recreation last Sunday, restricting a gallant Paynesville Blue to 142.
In the other match at AJ Freeman Reserve, third-placed Lucknow batted first and accumulated 185 from their 16-over allotment, before hanging on gamely to defeat the second-ranked Paynesville White who finished their allocation on 177.
This Sunday will also be Pink Stumps Day with double the cricket and double the fun.
The action kicks off at 11am with an interclub clash between Paynesville’s two women’s teams, followed by the highly anticipated grand finale at 1pm.
The day will be all about pink and pink spirit with plenty of raffles and amazing raffle prizes, all proceeds going directly to the McGrath Foundation.
