An enjoyable year of friendship, fun, and involvement in fundraising proved a busy year for Inner Wheel Club of Bairnsdale members.
Commencing with an international theme the club acknowledged members from this world-wide organisation, spanning 100 countries.
“Reach and Inspire for a Better World” is the current worldwide focus for Inner Wheel members.
“Heartbeat of Humanity – to end violence against women and children” is of highest priority as Inner Wheel’s National focus.
Locally, fundraising continues raising money for Cord Blood Research and MS together with the club making donations to worthy local causes.
There were several opportunities presented to engage with the community including participation in the popular Community Groups Expo conducted by the Lakes Entrance Lions Club.
Taking part in the Lakes Entrance Garden Club’s weekend event recently provided excellent results towards Cord Blood Research, as did a special morning tea hosted by a Bairnsdale member.
Monthly raffles arranged by a dedicated member continue to provide good results, while informative presentations from a variety of guest speakers, the changeover dinner in July, and Walking Group activities each fortnight provide both health benefits and enjoyment for all who participate.
Christmas end of year social events also highlighted the importance of getting together socially.
Inner Wheel combines friendship and fun while at the same time striving to make the world a better place locally, nationally and internationally.
