East Gippsland Shire CEO Anthony Basford has resigned after a five year stint working in our region.
He has accepted a position  with the Shire of Greater Geelong.
It will be a six month project for Council to appoint another CEO and it is the only time councillors can have a degree of influence who becomes the East Gippsland chief administrator for the next five years or the length of the contract of employment.
It is an interesting position for current council as they will appoint a new CEO for the next incoming elected council.
