A magical day.
These were the words being used to describe this year's Bairnsdale Advertiser and Cranes Civil and Surfacing Christmas Parade last Saturday.
Despite concerns rain may dampen the parade, the weather held off as hundreds of locals and visitors crammed Bairnsdale's Main Street to watch more than 40 entries pass by, an increase of around 10 compared to last year's parade.
Trucks, vintage cars, go-karts, roller skaters, community groups and even dinosaurs got involved in the parade, along with a special visit from Santa Claus.
The crowd was treated to the humorous tones of local commentator, Anthony Capobianco, as the parade made its way down Main Street. 
President of the Bairnsdale Chamber of Commerce, Trevor Hancock, said the parade was one of the biggest yet.
"At the end of the parade, a four-year-old boy turned to his mother and said 'this is awesome', and I think this captured the parade perfectly," Mr Hancock said.
"This parade was not just Bairnsdale - it was East Gippsland, and we recognise how many people organise and take part in this annual event."
Mr Hancock has hopes next year's event will be even bigger again.
