After a long five years of planning, fundraising and hard work, the Twin Rivers Men’s Shed (TRMS) was officially opened last Wednesday.
A generous crowd gathered inside the Johnsonville Hall to hear from TRMS president, Jim Nicol, who spoke about how the Men’s Shed came to be.
It all started in 2018, when Kevin Powell and several others were getting together in Kevin’s garage to work on projects because they had downsized and did not have sheds of their own. 
However, issues around insurance, occupational health and safety, tools, equipment and ownership became a concern. 
It was decided there was a need to have a place in the community to work and come together.
