The 2025 Bairnsdale Volleyball Association autumn volleyball season will begin on March 6, following the running of the annual Community Challenge Cup.
The challenge will begin on February 6 and run for three weeks on a Thursday night.
This mini season is designed so all games are participated in a fun and friendly manner with the emphasis on fun and to also give local Bairnsdale and surrounding businesses/services a chance to play against each other for bragging rights within the community.
The long-running tournament began back in the late 1990s in which inaugural winners were Goodmans Seed Farm and Garden Centre, who held onto the champions trophy for a number of years.
It is based around the idea of allowing individual players and teams to come along and try the game for several weeks and determine how seriously they may want to play in the autumn season which begins after the completion of the community challenge.
Last year saw a number teams enter the competitive season, that saw Hit N Miss come out as eventual winners with a side that was filled with mostly junior players.
Teams of any sort, or individual players, can still register on the night or enter via email, with games to be the best of three sets (first to 15) with a 20-minute time limit.
The association will have three seperate divisions for the autumn season; social, reserves and open, with team or individual players entries now open.
