Ron Dunlop, a long-term member of the Paynesville Motor Cruiser Club was recently awarded a life membership for assisting the club to regain a stable financial footing in the community and being able to trade.
When Ron was presented with his life membership by Commodore Sam Beechey on club night he was
lost for words, but mentioned the club’s new position not having a permanent cook.
Ron said perhaps in the future the position may be difficult to fill but as a club there were many opportunities and options to look at for continued success.
Ron felt the committee should consult a number of successful motor cruiser clubs and their operations before just appointing another chef at the club.
Ron said the current committee had so far done a sterling job getting the club back an even financial keel.
