The Swan Reach Market is on this Sunday, March 16, at the Swan Reach Recreation Reserve located on the grassed area around the oval.
The market will run from 8am to noon and will feature both car boot sales as well as makers-traders.
The new flat and grassed location of the market will enable easy access, and traders will be either side of the gravel track to the left of the entrance to the recreational reserve.
“This month our car boot traders will enjoy a “no fee” for their second-hand selling site, plus all makers traders’ fees will be reduced to only $5 for this month,” market coordinator, Desma Payne said.
“Our Swan Reach Car Boot and Makers Market is a new market, and we want it to be a successful day to de-stash everyone’s unwanted pre-loved treasurers, in keeping with our environmental sustainability focus, as well as providing a safe space to sell goods.
“All makers sites will be reduced to $5 too for this market, to encourage additional makers to enjoy showcasing their unique crafts in such a picturesque environment.
“The Twin Rivers Lions Club supports the local community and encourages everyone to head along and enjoy a fun morning out. Bring along your pre-loved unwanted items from the back of your sheds and cupboards.
“Any second-hand items are welcome – unwanted furniture, fittings, decorations, tools, machinery, clothing for all ages, craft odds and ends, and bric-a-brac.
“It’s also a great way to fund raise for local community groups who support our Twin Rivers District too.”
The Twin Rivers Lions catering team will be cooking up a storm, with the surplus funds received at next Sunday’s market going towards fundraising to enable improvements to be made to the club’s community shed.
“Currently we are calling out for a coffee van to attend our market days, and other community events we run. If you know someone with this equipment please
contact us, as we would appreciate being able to provide this service for our community,” Desma said.
The club’s community book exchange will be open during market hours so there’s a great opportunity to drop in for a visit for anyone unable to attend on Tuesday’s open days.
At the Lions Community Shed visitors will also see a fantastic display of beautifully handmade gifts lovingly created by our talented volunteer machinists, using fabrics and accessories that have been generously donated to the club.
