Local powerbuilder Danny Challman recently participated in his first event, taking to the stage in the ICN Men’s Fitness first timer class at the Australian Fitness Expo which was held at the Melbourne Conference and Convention Centre.
Challman has been training for six years for this moment, finally deciding to step out of comfort zone, making the courageous step to get up on stage.
Inspired by the support of his family, close friends and coaches, Challman still cannot believe he competed in a bodybuilding competition.
Challman was awarded an encouragement award for his efforts a fitting reward for his commitment, dedication, determination and bravery over the journey, as he made a long-held dream come true.
Six years ago Challman decided to turn his life around from poorer lifestyle habits and a body composition that he wanted to change.
Yes, he lifted plenty of weights over the journey, but there have been plenty of changes and sacrifices as he embraced a clean lifestyle.
He’s missed plenty of social engagements, prioritised sleep and recovery and learned the mandatory poses that are essential in natural bodybuilding.
He even got that classic competition tan to make his hard-earned muscle definition pop under the stage lights.
